Hello everyone, I hope you’re doing well. It’s been a while since I’ve publised my previous blog post but this review is heavily requested over on my Instagram! Today’s review is going to be of the Morphe 35O Palette which is absolutely hyped over on YouTube and Instagram. I will be telling you all the details of what I think of them down below, but first, take a look at the palette in all it’s glory.
As you can see, the palette consists of 35 eyeshadows in the warm orange-brown colour family and it’s honestly beautiful to look at. First and foremost, I’d like to clarify that I was extremely skeptical about purchasing the palette. I saw these all over Instagram but I’ve never really been interested since it reminded me so much of the eBay/ BH Cosmetics/ Coastal Scents palettes. You know, those bulk eyeshadow palettes that everyone raved about on YouTube a few years ago. They are also dirt cheap, only costing USD$22.95 for each of the eyeshadow palettes which raised my suspicion even more. I didn’t think that it would be good, I thought it was only great for what you pay for.
I paid AUD$40 from an Australian retailer because I couldn’t be bothered to order from the US website and wait for another 3 weeks for it to arrive. I ripped open my package once it arrived on my doorstep and swatched them right away. The palettes come in their own bubble wrap which is a great sign. No one wants to see their eyeshadows arrive broken, right?
Boy, I shouldn’t have been skeptical! Above is the swatch of some of the colours in the palette (matte finishes on the left, shimmer finishes on the right). Sure, they aren’t the best of the best quality of eyeshadows but they are extremely pigmented and blendable. The texture is definitely much drier than other high end shadows, they feel a little chalky but it transfers just like a high end shadow. The shimmery shadows has a fair amount of fallout, a little more than Urban Decay eyeshadows but I can live with it and it’s not a major disadvantage since the eyeshadow texture and pigmentation itself is THAT good.
To all the skeptics out there, yes this palette is definitely worth your money and it’s not just worth the money for the price you paid for. I do believe that it could be worth more. The only con that I would say for this palette is that it’s very hard to get your hands on. It’s one of Morphe’s most popular palettes and they sell out very quickly so you got to be quick when ordering the palette. Do follow Morphe’s Instagram page for news of when this palette will restock again.
In the next post, I’ll be doing comparison swatches between Morphe Brushes 35O Palette and the Chi Chi Cosmetics Spices Palette. I’m also looking forward to purchasing my 2nd Morphe Palette because I’m now officially a Morphe addict..
