Hello again everyone!
I’ve been meaning to post a proper review for this liquid lipstick because I think that they deserve so much more recognition. Jeffree Star is known for being a social media celebrity and has just recently launched his own line of liquid lipsticks with more products like lip scrubs and traditional lipsticks coming soon.
The bottle features a very pretty hot pink cap (it’s so Jeffree!) with rose gold foil printing, as you can see on the pictures below. The bottle is also clear so you can see the exact colour of the lipstick itself which is great! Another interesting feature of the bottle is that it has a lock mechanism that clicks when you close the bottle so you know that the bottle has been closed securely and you won’t have to deal with leaking lipsticks.
For Christmas 2015, Jeffree Star launched 5 limited edition shades in limited edition packaging. It features a white cap instead of his usual hot pink which I think made the bottle super pretty to look at, especially with the contrasting rose gold printing. Unfortunately, I only have 2 out the 5 shades available (Doll Parts and Hoe Hoe Hoe) and it is not being re-released except for the shade Androgyny which I do not own yet *sadface*
As for the formula, it is more on the creamier side and there are a little difference in consistencies between shades. I find that my tube of Posh Spice, Celebrity Skin and Doll Parts (LE) is much runnier in consistency than the other 5 shades that I own. But despite the inconsistencies between the shades, the pigmentation is extremely pigmented in all the colours that I own, even the white-based colour like Dirty Money (green).
What I like about Jeffree Star’s lipsticks is that they are not as drying as Colourpop’s liquid lipsticks which I honestly can’t stand unless I layer a generous amount of lip balm underneath and exfoliate. His lipsticks are very comfortable and bearable in terms of liquid lipsticks so if you have naturally dry lips like mine you would want to try at least one shade from the Jeffree Star velour liquid lipstick line. The liquid lipstick also lasts a long time. I usually wear Masochist and I wear them on shopping days where I don’t really touch up my makeup and it lasts a whole day even with constant eating and drinking.
I would also like to note that the lipstick doesn’t have any fragrance added to it so it can smell a little off to some people but I personally have no problems. I do love scents in lipsticks though and I have heard that Jeffree Star is now adding root beer scent into a few shades of his liquid lipsticks. His newest shade Breakfast At Tiffany’s do have this scent which is great. I’ll be looking forward to the new scented Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks once he releases any more colours that grab my interest 🙂
