I am pretty sure most of you would know what Beauty Blenders are, unless you’ve been living under a rock these past few years..
Left to right: Beauty Blender, Chi Chi Cosmetics Makeup Sponge, Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge.
The beauty blender sponge has forever been the cult favourite of so many girls and guys in the beauty community. So many people swear by it and claim that nothing beats the original beauty blender itself. Beauty Blenders in Australia costs AU$27 at Sephora Australia or AU$29.10 from BeautyBay.com if Sephora is unavailable at your local area. $27 is definitely an expensive price to pay for a piece of sponge that blends your foundation, so a lot of companies try to duplicate the OG beauty blender for the cheap. Most of them though, isn’t a dupe for the OG beauty blender. So the question is, is there any beauty blender dupes out there?
Unfortunately I haven’t found any dupes for the beauty blenders but I can tell you I have found similar products that work just as good as the beauty blenders for a fraction of the cost.
The most talked about “dupe” is the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion sponge. In my opinion, these aren’t dupes for the actual beauty blenders but is a very similar product that gives the same results. It has a slanted cut top which gives you more surface area to blend your foundation on your skin unlike the beauty blender that has a round bottom. The only downside to this is that sometimes the sponge might deform and not keep into shape especially during the wetting and wringing process. It costs AU$16.99 from Priceline or AU$8.42 from iHerb.com. It’s definitely cheaper than the cult favourite beauty blenders but the question is, is there any similar product that is even cheaper than the Real Techniques sponge?
The answer is yes!
Let me introduce you to this magical sponge by Chi Chi Cosmetics. Don’t get too excited, although they aren’t dupes for the OG beauty blenders, they are dupes for the Real Techniques sponge! They come in variety of shapes and colours and the best part is that it’s only $5.95! Chi Chi Cosmetics usually does a 30% off at Myers and Target too. So it’s a double bargain! They also come in a 4 piece set for $15. Have you tried them yet?
